Completion rate: staked vs. unstaked

Goals set on Wolf Pack Goals — with a financial stake, a written commitment, and visible accountability partners — are completed at roughly 65%. That compares against a commonly cited baseline of around 11% for goals set with no stake and no accountability (the oft-referenced figure for unassisted New Year's resolutions).

The gap lines up with two separately studied behavioral effects rather than one: loss aversion (Kahneman & Tversky, 1979 — a loss is felt more strongly than an equivalent gain) and social accountability (commonly cited ASTD research puts completion odds around 65% once you commit to another person, and as high as 95% with a specific accountability appointment). Wolf Pack Goals combines both, plus a written commitment step ("Go Deeper," six questions inspired by intention-setting research), rather than relying on any one factor alone.

Stake tiers in use

Methodology

Source: figures are drawn from goals tracked on the Wolf Pack Goals platform since launch, self-reported by users at each goal's deadline.

Honor system: completion is self-reported, not independently verified (no GPS or photo proof) — see our FAQ for why that's a deliberate design choice, not a gap in the data.

Baseline comparison: the ~11% unstaked figure is a widely cited estimate for New Year's resolution success (not a Wolf Pack Goals-run control group) — used here for context on the scale of the gap, not as a controlled A/B comparison.
