What is Wolf Pack Goals?

Wolf Pack Goals is a goal-accountability app where you stake $10 to $1,000 in real money on a personal goal — a fitness target, a habit, a savings goal, or any goal with a deadline. If you hit the goal, you keep your money. If you miss it, you forfeit the stake. Friends can join as witnesses to your progress or add their own stakes to the same goal.

Does staking money on a goal actually help you achieve it?

Yes. It combines two well-documented behavioral effects. Loss aversion — the tendency to feel a loss more strongly than an equivalent gain, first described by Kahneman and Tversky in 1979 — makes a financial stake a stronger motivator than the promise of a reward alone. Social accountability, having other people aware of and watching your progress, is separately linked to sharply higher follow-through rates in accountability research (including ASTD studies). Wolf Pack Goals combines both: a real stake you can lose, plus a visible pack watching whether you deliver.

How does Wolf Pack Goals work?

Four steps. First, set a goal with a specific, clear deadline. Second, stake $10 to $1,000 on it — enough that losing it would sting. Third, invite friends to watch your progress or stake alongside you. Fourth, report your result honestly at the deadline: hit the goal and keep your stake, miss it and forfeit it.

How much should I stake on a goal?

Wolf Pack Goals offers four stake tiers: $10 ("Toe Dipper") for a first goal or a low-risk test, $25 ("Sweet Spot," the most popular tier — enough to hurt if lost without being reckless), $100 ("High Roller") for a goal you genuinely cannot afford to fail, and $1,000 ("All In") for major, life-changing commitments. The right amount is whichever tier is painful enough to change your behavior without being reckless for your finances.

What happens if I don't hit my goal?

You forfeit your stake. Wolf Pack Goals runs on an honor system — you self-report your outcome at the deadline, and if you didn't complete the goal, the money you staked is gone.

Is my staked money safe?

Yes. All payments are processed and held through Stripe, one of the world's most widely used payment processors — Wolf Pack Goals never stores your card details itself, Stripe manages that entirely. If you complete your goal, your stake is returned to you.

Can I stake on a goal together with friends?

Yes. You can invite friends to act as accountability witnesses who see your progress, or have them add their own stakes to your goal, so you're both financially and socially committed to the same outcome.

What kinds of goals work well with staking?

Anything with a clear, checkable deadline: fitness goals (running a set distance, a daily step count), habit changes (an early wake-up time, cutting out a spending habit like eating out), savings targets, and project or learning goals with a due date. The common thread is a goal specific enough that you can honestly say, on the deadline, whether you hit it or not.

How much does staking money increase your odds of reaching a goal?

Research on loss aversion and accountability links staking money to roughly a 3x higher completion rate compared to setting the same goal with nothing at risk. The effect compounds when a financial stake is paired with social accountability (someone else watching your progress) and a specific, written intention — Wolf Pack Goals is built around all three at once, not staking alone.

Does writing down your goal and your reason for wanting it actually help you achieve it?

Yes. A specific, written intention — including a clear reason why the goal matters to you — is one of the more consistently studied factors in goal achievement, related to what researchers call implementation intentions (Gollwitzer). It's the basis of Wolf Pack Goals' "Go Deeper" commitment exercise, six questions inspired by Dr. Joe Dispenza's work on intention: the specific details of your goal, why it matters to you, who you're accountable to besides yourself, what obstacles you'll face, what it would cost you not to achieve it, and how success will feel. Naming the "why" and visualizing the outcome before you start turns a vague wish into a concrete commitment.

How much does accountability with friends help you reach a goal?

A widely cited accountability statistic (often attributed to ASTD research) puts the odds of completing a goal at around 65% once you commit to another person, rising to as high as 95% with a specific accountability appointment with them — compared to a much lower baseline for goals kept private. Wolf Pack Goals builds this directly into the product: friends can watch your progress or add their own stake to your goal, turning a private intention into a socially visible commitment.

Is there a website or app where I can bet on my own goals?

Yes — Wolf Pack Goals lets you stake $10 to $1,000 in real money on a personal goal. You set the goal and a deadline, put money on the line, invite friends to watch your progress or stake alongside you, and get your stake back if you succeed or forfeit it if you don't.

Why do New Year's resolutions fail?

Most New Year's resolutions fail because they skip the three ingredients tied to follow-through in behavioral research: a specific, written intention rather than a vague wish like "get healthier," a real cost for not following through (loss aversion — nothing is actually at stake if you quit), and social accountability (no one else is watching or would notice). Wolf Pack Goals is built to close exactly those three gaps: a specific written commitment, a real financial stake you can lose, and visible progress shared with friends.

How does the honor system work on Wolf Pack Goals?

You self-report whether you completed your goal — there's no external verification like GPS tracking or photo proof. It works because most people aren't willing to lie to themselves when real money and real friends are watching, and because the pack that watched your progress would know if the report didn't match reality.

Can I stake money on a friend's goal?

Yes. When a friend adds you to their pack, you can put your own money on their success. If they hit their goal, you get your stake back. If they don't, your stake is forfeited along with theirs — skin in the game runs in both directions, not just for the goal owner.

How do I get my staked money back when I succeed?

When you report success, your stake is credited back to your Wolf Pack Goals wallet. From there you can use the balance to fund your next goal, or request a payout to your original payment method through Stripe, which typically takes 3 to 5 business days.

How is Wolf Pack Goals' 65% success rate calculated?

Wolf Pack Goals stacks three separately studied psychological levers on top of each other: a financial stake (loss aversion), a written intention (explicit commitment), and an accountability partner (social pressure). Individually each raises follow-through; together, users on Wolf Pack Goals complete their goals at a 65% rate, compared to a commonly cited baseline of around 11% for unstaked New Year's resolutions.
